More Options For Your Fashionable Pet

Fashion labels, especially those on the luxury end of the spectrum, have been getting into the pet products category for many years now. Examples range from Louis Vuitton and Gucci to Versace and Ralph Lauren, among others. Although there are exceptions to the rule, most of these marketers have opted to go the in-house route, rather than signing licensees, when extending their names and fashion sense into pet clothing, collars, leashes, carriers, beds, and more.

The fashion x pet trend continues, but recent participants have veered from the norm somewhat by leaning into licensing and collaboration to accomplish their pet-related brand extensions. For example:

  • New York-based fashion and lifestyle brand Kith entered the pet products space for the first time last month, through a licensing agreement with design-minded petwear company Wagwear. Products include shoes, food bowls, raincoats in various sizes, walking gear including padded harnesses and reflective rope leashes, and chew toys, among other products.
  • Last October, Oscar de la Renta paired with SimonSits, the brand founded by influencer Isabel Klee, for a collection of nine styles of showy dog bows, some in solids and some in floral patterns from the designer’s archive. The Oscar de la Renta x SimonSits capsule, which retailed for $300 per bow, raised funds for Muddy Paws Rescue in honor of Adopt a Dog Month. Oscar de la Renta does not have a permanent pet offering, but it has done other collaborations over the years, including a collection of two in-house-produced designer coats for dogs about a decade ago.
  • Skate and streetwear brand Palace partnered with French outerwear brand K-way a year ago February for a capsule collection of the latter’s genderless packable windbreaker, Le Vrai Claude, in two color combinations, along with a matching pet-sized version, Le Vrai Horatio. The latter was accompanied by a complementary collection of pet supplies, including a carrier bag, foldable blanket, dog collar, and leash.

While luxury and premium labels tend to be the most high-profile fashion-industry players in the pet space, other apparel brands are involved as well. Sportswear and footwear specialist Adidas, for example, launched an in-house-produced pet collection in 2025, starting in China before expanding globally. Its latest addition is a FIFA World Cup 2026 range consisting of pet jerseys inspired by the home kits of global soccer federations for which Adidas serves as the official outfitter, including Argentina, Colombia, Japan, and Mexico.
