In cricket-obsessed India, athletes known for their prowess on the pitch are increasingly pairing with fashion companies for capsule collections, brand ambassadorships (which can ultimately lead to capsules), or both. Examples of the growing number of partnerships arising in the last couple of years include the following:
- Skechers partnered with Mohammed Siraj in September 2025, with Siraj agreeing to wear the company’s cricket shoes in matches and appear in marketing campaigns for the brand’s performance and lifestyle products. Skechers’ other brand ambassadors from the sport include Jasprit Bumrah, Ishan Kishan, and Yastika Bhatia.
- Adidas paired with Rishabh Pant in February 2025 for a multiyear brand ambassadorship, adding to a roster that also includes Sumit Anil, Manika Batra, Rohit Sharma (a long-time partner), Kuldeep Yadav, and Nikhat Zareen.
- The Italian luxury label Paul & Shark, which operates four dedicated shops in India, signed cricketer KL Rahul in May 2025 as the first Indian athlete to serve as an ambassador for the brand. Rahul worked with Paul & Shark to design a capsule collection as part of the deal. The company, which has previously worked with mostly Italian athletes as ambassadors, is known for its inspired-by-the-sea t-shirts, sweatshirts, pants, shirts, and beachwear, among other categories.
- Indian fashion label Qua released a Modern Heroine collection of tailored suits, dresses, and separates in October 2024, inspired by four emerging stars of India’s national women’s cricket team: Shreyanka Patil, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, and Radha Yadav.
- Van Heusen Innerwear, a brand marketed in India by licensee Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, collaborated with Hardik Pandya in October 2023 for an advertising campaign illustrating the performance characteristics and what it said was the light-as-air feel of its products.
Beyond these athlete-focused deals, Indian cricket teams and organizations have also been increasingly active in the fashion space. The Rajasthan Royals cricket team named clothing brand Myntra its official fashion partner in a deal announced in May 2025, for example. And the UP Warriorz, a women’s club from the state of Uttar Parash, paired with the All India Artisans and Craftworkers Welfare Association and the Capri Foundation to release a collection of modern polo shirts, sweatshirts, t-shirts, shorts, zip jackets, and bracelets produced by local, mostly female artisans. The name of the collection, Phool Aur Chingari, translates to Flame of the Forest, the common name of the state flower, Butea monosperma. The pieces include artisanal details such as brass-enamel buttons, embroidery, heritage prints, and beading.
Cricket-inspired fashion is not limited to India, of course. To name one example: Drake’s NOCTA label with Nike released a global capsule collection in September 2025 that takes its cues from the love of cricket in the Caribbean, encompassing khaki, brown, and white t-shirts, sweat pants, and crewneck sweaters, as well as a jersey and a cricket bat.
